Dave Kunst’s Walk Around The World

In 1970 Dave Kunst set out with his brother at the age of 31 to walk around the world with one of his brothers.  After being attacked, Dave was injured and his brother lost his life. Dave healed and another of his brothers continued at his side.  Dave’s walk was over land only and took four years to complete. Dave is the first confirmed person to actually make the walk around the world.

Lance Armstrong’s Strength

Ask any man, woman or child - Lance is one of the most inspiring symbols of strength and accomplishment the world has ever seen. From his multiple Tour de France titles to his comeback against cancer Lance doesn’t know a challenge when he sees one.

Lance’s story

At age 25, Lance Armstrong was one of the world’s best cyclists. He proved it by winning the World Championships, the Tour Du Pont and multiple Tour de France stages. Lance Armstrong seemed invincible and his future was bright.

Then they told him he had cancer.

Next to the challenge he now faced, bike racing seemed insignificant. The diagnosis was testicular cancer, the most common cancer in men aged 15-35. If detected early, its cure rate is a promising 90 percent. Like most young, healthy men, Lance ignored the warning signs, and he never imagined the seriousness of his condition. Going untreated, the cancer had spread to Lance’s abdomen, lungs and brain. His chances dimmed.

Then a combination of physical conditioning, a strong support system and competitive spirit took over. He declared himself not a cancer victim but a cancer survivor. He took an active role in educating himself about his disease and the treatment. Armed with knowledge and confidence in medicine, he underwent aggressive treatment and beat the disease.

During his treatment, before his recovery, before he even knew his own fate, he created the Lance Armstrong Foundation. This marked the beginning of Lance’s life as an advocate for people living with cancer and a world representative for the cancer community.

Lance Armstrong’s victories in the 1999-2005 Tours de France are awe-inspiring, but the battle against cancer has just begun-not just for him, but for all cancer survivors and people just like him who think cancer could not affect them. He plans to lead this fight, and he hopes that you join him. This is a life he owes to cancer. This is his choice to live strong.

Ahman Green’s Shelby GT500 Mustang

Ahman Green has the life most football fanatics dream about. Currently with the Houston Texans (1/08) he was a storied running back for the Green Bay Packers as well. Apparently he’s got nice taste in cars as well.

Ahman Green, one of the city’s most heralded transplants, who for six seasons in Green Bay was more likely to suffer from frostbite than heat exhaustion. It is within the confines of suburban Sugarland that the four-time Pro Bowler has settled with his family after signing a spanking new multi-million dollar contract with the Houston Texans. And it is here where he takes delivery of his newest toy: a gray and black-striped 2007 Shelby Cobra GT500 Mustang. While bringing home a new auto with over 450 horses galloping under the hood is certainly cause for celebration for this car aficionado, it also means Green has to make space in a garage already teeming with stunning chariots.

And while the new Shelby Mustang is nothing to sneeze at, it is Carroll Shelby’s earlier work that collectors covet. Green is among the lucky few to own one of the automotive legend’s signature ‘’Stangs, a 1967 Shelby Mustang GT500, which got its star turn in the high-octane movie, Gone in 60 Seconds starring Nicholas Cage. In the film, the car was nicknamed “Eleanor,” and Green has kept the name and much of its original and pristine aura intact.

Green has a business mind when it comes to his automotive passions; he started R Series Innovations in 2003. Ahman and his business partner created a way that people can get the aftermarket look right from the dealership. You can get the latest in custom interior, audio/visual and rim and tire upgrades. You can pick a vehicle customized the way you want and have it factored into your car payment. No more high-priced custom shops or dealership rip-offs. Green’s business card of sorts is the one-of-a-kind alumni car, which allows owners to customize their car with their college’s colors. Most notable is Green’s own alumni car, a 2006 Dodge Charger Signature Series in Cornhusker red and white with his autograph emblazoned on the hood and his collegiate stats imprinted on the floor mats, engine covers and child booster seat. As an exclamation point, the car sits on 22-inch custom red-and-white rims.
